Final Presentations of Course Twin Transition: Strategizing for Sustainability and Digitalization

In June 2024, selected students from WU’s SIMC master program presented findings to partner executives as part of the business project course on Twin Transition.

The course offered students a unique opportunity to collaborate with two of Austria’s leading energy firms. This year, the focus was on how digitalization can drive sustainability. One group analyzed how digitalization supports decarbonization efforts and enhances circularity. The other group identified market hypotheses, focusing on digital energy solutions, decarbonization, and the impact of startups on the value chain. Students conducted thorough industry, market, and competitor analyses using desk research and expert interviews. They developed strategic recommendations and practical deliverables, contributing to the firms’ strategic growth. Regular coordination with company experts provided valuable support and guidance. Throughout the course, students gained experience as top-management consultants, enhancing their strategic management capabilities.
