Innovation Talk “Breakthrough Technologies in Energy Generation and Transport”

This Innovation Talk with the title “Breakthrough Technologies in Energy Generation and Transport” was held by Timona Ghosh, Senior Business Development Manager at HDF Energy.

The focus of this talk was on the European Union’s ambitious goal of achieving a climate-neutral power grid by 2050, and the necessity of hydrogen-based solutions to complement renewable sources like wind and solar energy. These technologies are critical for addressing energy supply gaps, supporting peak demand, enabling long-term energy storage, and providing base load power for remote regions. Hydrogen also presents promising applications in the transportation sector, enhancing existing renewable energy sources such as biogas, hydropower, and geothermal energy.

Ms. Ghosh shared insights from her experience at HDF Energy, a global leader in hydrogen project development and multi-megawatt fuel cell manufacturing, emphasizing their contributions to decarbonizing power generation and heavy-duty transport on rail and sea. She highlighted HDF Energy’s innovative hydrogen-to-power and power-to-power plants and discussed their strategic relevance for the energy and transport sectors in Germany and Austria.
