Workshop on Rethinking Strategy Research in the Digital Age

ESTT member G. Reischauer co-organized the workshop “Rethinking Strategy Research in the Digital Age”. As firms are increasingly operating in the digital realm, strategy research faces to challenge to measure and analyze this new operations. This workshop assembled leading scholars to discuss this challenge. It consisted of two parts. Part 1 aimed to make participants more familiar with conducting research and being a scholar in the digital age. To this end, there are two sessions. The first session kicked off with a brief introductory presentation and a subsequent panel discussion amongst experienced scholars of digitalization from various domains. After that, different panelists introduced the notion of “open science” and together with the participants discuss how digitalization affects the role of the (strategy) researcher. Part 2 of the research workshop featured several paper development roundtable sessions. Attendees were able to present their research and get feedback from leading strategy scholars.
