Master Thesis on the Acceptance and B2C Market Potential of Smart Home-Based AAL Solutions

The master thesis “Acceptance and B2C Market Potential of Smart Home-Based AAL Solutions for Elderly Care from the Perspective of an Austrian Energy Provider” deals with the challenges and opportunities of smart home-based AAL (Active Assisted Living) solutions with respect to energy providers in the Austrian market. Here is the abstract:

The constantly growing aging population and the rising frequency of chronic diseases indicate an increasing need for healthcare services in the near future. Since a lack of personnel in the healthcare sector already exists, other solutions such as smart home-based Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) technologies for elderly care purposes are promising. However, AAL has been scarcely adopted so far. Against this background, the aim of this master thesis is to assess the acceptance and B2C market potential of selected smart home-based AAL solutions for elderly care purposes.
